Magazine Review

Very nicely done.

But, then, the Holy Order Of MANS / Christ the Savior Brotherhood [HOOM/CSB] has always had top notch publications.  Starting with Sonflowers in the '70's and next was Tree Of Life in the 80's.

The articles are mostly unique.  But the selection of articles as a whole is heavily world Orthodox, although presenting what is probably some of the best world Orthodoxy has to offer.  Easily digestible, many in the "human interest" category.  Many can be read right there on their website.  http://www.roadtoemmaus.net/

If you desire to read any of these articles, then balance it out with readings from the Royal Path sources.  If you do not desire to read any of these articles, you are not missing anything.

And remember that Christ The Savior Brotherhood is a cult  and many Orthodox who came from CSB are only partially reformed, have not completely converted, have not given all of their selfs to the Church.  Many do not confess that the founder of HOOM was under the influence of demons.  Many of them see their past as a wondrous step towards the Church, rather than what it really is - which is that they were rescued by God's great mercy from the edge of a terrible abyss.

The Odyssey of a New Religion: The Holy Order of MANS From New Age to Orthodoxy (Religion in North America)

About the Author
PHILLIP CHARLES LUCAS teaches in the Department of Religion at Stetson University.
"... especially welcome. It offers an in-depth, meticulously documented history of a church, the Holy Order of MANS, that arose from the Christian esoteric mystery tradition and then metamorphosed into a traditionalist Orthodox Christian sect. This unlikely tale has more twists and turns than a whodunit... this volume is that rarest of finds: an academic book that is a delight to read." -- Gnosis Magazine
Traces the journey of a new religious movement from its start as a monastic-style New Age order to its transformation into the more conventional Christ the Savior Brotherhood, an Eastern Orthodox sect. A remarkable story of social and spiritual change in contemporary America.

Key word in both the above reviews is "sect" - had they fully repented and abandoned the CSB, then they would not be a sect.  There are a few isolated individuals, formerly in CSB, who have managed to forsake all and fully enter into the Church, but the Road To Emmaus folks are not numbered among them.
